Marc was born and raised in a small fisherman's village in Catalonia, Spain. He studied Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering in Barcelona and London, and got a full ride scholarship for his PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (Computational Biology emphasis) at UC Berkeley. Marc began his investing career at Illumina Inc. and continued it at Illumina Ventures. Marc lives in San Francisco where he enjoys crossfit, running, skiing, wine tasting, and exploring new restaurants.
